Hi Neighbor,
For all those who were unable to attend last month’s
meeting, you missed one of the best presentations offered
by this Association. The Association reached a milestone 85th
Anniversary and Mayor Bishop presented us with a proclamation
for all the good this organization does within the community.
Special thanks to Mayor Bishop and the Township officials
who joined us for the open forum. The information supplied
about each department and the questions asked were both timely
and informative.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday May 27th at 7:00
P.M. Ms. Leanne Hoffmann (township engineer) and Mr. Tim O’Connor
(Marina supervisor) will be in attendance at 7:30 P.M. to
provide information about the proposed dredging of the inlet
by the Marina. Come and hear what is happening in our own
backyard and how it impacts you as a resident. I encourage
everyone to attend this timely meeting.
Mark your calendars now for Monday May 26th for our 58th
Annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. Assembly time is
8:45 A.M. at Snake Hill (South Riverside Drive past Sylvan
Drive). Parade kick off is 9:00 A.M., as we march as a community
to the Memorial Park on South Riverside Drive for a short
Memorial Service. On this day, we come together to honor all
those soldiers who have fought so bravely to keep this country
free. Many sacrificed their lives for us. Can’t you
take a few minutes to join us to honor them? In case of inclement
weather, an abbreviated service will be held indoors at the
SRH Fire House on Brighton Avenue. If you don’t see
us on South Riverside Drive that morning, we are at the firehouse.
All are welcome to join us!
Does your American Flag need to be replaced? Is it old, torn
and worn? Treat yourself to a new “Old Glory”.
We all enjoying seeing our flag waving in the breeze, but
only when it is in tiptop condition.
Many thanks to Dunkin Donuts, 734 Old Corlies Avenue (across
from the McDonald’s on Route #33) for donating the coffee
for our anniversary celebration. It was enjoyed by all and
we applaud them for their community involvement. ***
